The Federal Government has instituted for a short window of opportunity a wonderful program for "first time home buyers" . For the purposes of this program the Feds are defining a "first time home buyer" as someone who has not owned a home for 3 years or more.

If you meet this criteria, earn less than $75,000.00 a year or $150,000 for a couple , and buy a home between now and July 1, 2009, you are eligible for this $7500.00 Federal Tax Credit. At tax time they will literally write you a check for up to $7500.00.
